Notice Regarding Companies Listed Above: From time to time a company may be removed from the list of companies doing business in Mongolia. I am a one-man research outfit and I have not had time to research all these companies. A company being listed here only means that the company has either appeared at least once in the news blog on my home page linked above or in an article written by me about Mongolia; and seems to gain more than 25% of its share value from doing business in Mongolia. However, when I come across company-specific research that indicates I would not want anyone else to spend time researching the company, I am removing that company until and unless I find new information that makes me believe the company should be listed here. If you believe I have removed or failed to include a company in error, please inform me so that I rectify the omission promptly.

Thanks !
Thank you for the kind words. I haven't done as much work over the summer due to some personal transitions. However, I try to keep up on Mongolia most on my "Mongolian home page" here - http://bit.ly/sNjhw1 - where you will find a running commentary from myself and others (please feel free to join the conversation)
I am still waiting for the new government to settle in and make its policies clear. I think:
- there are increased signs of risk for many investments in Mongolia right now, but this may abate
- there are some Mongolian investments that have gone down in price in sympathy with concerns about these risks but actually have no increased risk, and are a good value here... but, the price can still go lower based on perceptions about government action
Lastly, I haven't updated the above list in a while. I think the major thing I need to change is to change IVN to TQR... but I may be a missing a few other things, and I apologize for the lapses.
One final request. If you like my work, could you please hit the button to "follow" me on Seeking Alpha (just put the mouse over my name, and then press the green plus sign to follow me). Much obliged.
I don't know whether they'll allow me access to their website as an "accredited investor."
--Chris Schons
I don't know your economic status (and don't desire to). This is the definition of accredited (and you only need to meet one of the requirements): http://1.usa.gov/AAGoCn
If you are accredited, you may also want to inquire about their Global funds which do have some investments in Mongolia but are more diversified (I forget the exact names of the Global funds).
I am not invested with Firebird at this time, but I think they're very sharp. If I had a lot more nickels to my name, they'd probably have some of my funds.
--Chris Schons
No worries. I hope you only meantimed nice things about me...
Thanks for complimenting the list. It's always good to know that the time I put into putting together these kind of lists are useful for a few people at least.
