Many investors have sustained massive losses in the UBS Willow Fund. UBS Financial Services, Inc. ("UBS") offered and sold the Willow Fund to unsuspecting investors as a distressed debt fund. The Willow Fund had approximately $400 million in assets under management. Due to substantial losses, UBS announced the liquidation of the fund.
According to The Securities Law Firm of Menzer & Hill, P.A. UBS allegedly sold the Willow Fund to many retirees and other investors who were seeking conservative investments. Upon information and belief, UBS sold the fund as a safe alternative investment to the stock market.
Under FINRA rules and regulations, UBS may be held liable for investor losses if they failed to accurately disclose the true risk associated with The Willow Fund.
