    Quick update: I recommended VIV (Vivo Participacoes S.A.) in one of my smartphone apps recently.  Today VIV announced a merger with TSP (Telecomunicacoes de Sao Paulo S.A).  This merger will convert the TSP symbol to the VIV symbol and will adopt the TSP stock price, currently at $29.57.  This will also give prior VIV owners a 1.55 to 1 distribution of shares. 

    In summation, if you own(ed) VIV take note of two things:

    1.  Don't freak out when checking your account or graphs, etc.  Some brokerages have yet to execute the transition.

    2.  This union could very well bring us even more gains!  Keep your eyes open.

    thanks for your input. But there is something strange going on here it seems to me. TD Ameritrade says the new certificates have not been delivered by the VIVO agent and therefore can not be sold in my account. Meanwhile, TDA reflects a price of 28.36 down from 29.37. Some market makers are apparently trading. in any event, thanks for your input. TDA as usual has no idea what is going on.

    I echo your sentiments. My online brokerage hasn't cleared the transaction yet either. I'll look in to it more. Please share any information you find!
