Author’s reply » You have to cinch it tight enough so that it does not bump up and down, but then it is quite comfortable. It allows me to actually get some exercise with my kids. I run a few miles with the double jogging stroller, then they get out and we run a few miles together. That way, we can all get a bit of exercise despite our different running paces. Here is my favorite training gear and activities, including my favorite weight vest:

thanks for the info. i was thinking to run a mile without it, run a mile without it etc. do you find that its hard on your knees? or its not too bad? i'm gonna pick one up this week. I have been running for years, and thought I was in shape, then i started crossfit a couple months ago and found out that I wasn't quite in the shape I thought I was... and that the long distance runs i was doing weren't quite pushing myself enough, so I think the vest will help make the running a much better workout.

Author’s reply » It is not too bad on the knees, if you intentionally run with them bent; it would be pretty jarring on knees to slam your feet down with straight legs while carrying an extra 40 pounds.

Does it not make more sense to drink beers and eat a few extra roasted Chinese ducks (or gooses) plus a couple of well-marinated pork loins, combined with duck-fat fried truffle fries, thus spreading the 40 pounds all over your body comfortably, and then go running? I think that is what I have essentially done, inadvertently!
