Gorgeous! My sister's currently on a foliage tour of New England and hope she's seeing some good color (as if there's no autumn in northern Wisconsin!).

I toured NE at this time several years ago just as the leaves were starting to turn and before the hoards of tourists showed up. Made a point of finding the covered bridges in Vermont and caught the tail end of the season at the Maine lobster pounds (so called because that's where one adds pounds pounding down the lobster).

Your photos makes me want to go back!

Author’s reply » It is worth it. I've been biking to work these days and am off to a footrace in Vermont tomorrow and then Maine Sunday. Nice time of year for biking and running.

Author’s reply » We are cluttered with moose. If you want one, I will happily give you one of mine, since they eat my blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, and apples and stomp around on my garden in the process.

Author’s reply » They are like squirrels in Rangeley. Simply everywhere. We also have deer, fox, turkeys, American eagles, osprey, otters, trout, and bear.

I can see it now....the horrendous shipping charges to send a moose (carcass, or live?) to California, and the look on the Doc's face when it gets there. Not to mention the smell from the UPS truck.....

LOL...I thought so. After seeing your new office in Maine, that's not the type of building one puts up if he's planning to move. grin

Author’s reply » I think that I'm just an optimizer and like to constantly brainstorm about where I should be and what I should be doing. Also, I like to force myself out of doing anything or being anywhere due to habit.
