Chris, I'm not sure which is sadder. The fact that you are posting this late on a Friday night or that I am reading the post even later on a Friday night! lol

In this case, I don't mean to be the smart aleck I usually am, but isn't "Seeking Truth From Facts" redundant? It seems that, by definition, "facts" can only offer truth, no? I know, I'm being too literal ... it just immediately struck me as such an odd phrase that I had to say something. lol

Author’s reply » The point that I am trying to make is finding truth through primary sources, through observations from principals, through unfiltered, actionable items in the capital markets. This is very different from most news and analysis, which is typically a long game of telephone in which one analyzes analysis -- seeking truth from theories or ideas unrelated to the underlying facts.

Ahhhh, now I understand. And, couldn't agree more. It seems that my comment would've been more pertinent if I had left it the way I originally wrote it ... "by definition, 'facts' can only offer truth ... [and 'truth' can only be derived from facts]". I must say, Chris, that I always find the thoughts that you share thought provoking ... a refreshing reprieve from the straight "stock talk", so to speak.

The truth is that the facts are frequently not.

    Example:
Question..."What is the difference between a duck?"
Answer..."Well, one leg is both the same."

While that may be factually observant, is it the truth?
    Hope this clears it up.
