Awesome. Makes one feel small, but not unimportant.

Author’s reply » They are from where I live, but I was not the photographer. When I shoot, it goes "bang": http://bit.ly/GLXrvy.

Are those colored streaks something you can actually see in the sky, or is there some sort of photo enhancement? I have never seen anything like that!

File under humor of the day:
Chris you urgently need to seek a grant from the Department of Energy for a 'Green Energy project' to employ at least 500 people in whatever rural community you live in (aka flyover country to DC folk). This grant would 'empower the community' and 'offer good paying high skilled jobs' developing a way to tap the natural green power of the Northern Lights. Some analysts say it could be the new Bakken if only Exxon had not hushed it up for decades, however you just want the warm fuzzy sense of self-satisfaction that comes when you help your fellow man and cash your $324,000,000 grant check.

Author’s reply » Ha! Perfect. But my people always look funny on the arrival of "flat landers" so getting them to take gov'mint money might be a bit of a trick.
