  • JCP Denying Bankruptcy 4 comments
    Oct 15, 2013 1:56 PM | about stocks: JCP

There are certain topics that you are losing whenever you are discussing. Chief among them are your fidelity, honesty, and solvency. The faithful, honest, and solvent rarely if ever find themselves needing to protest that they have these virtues. It is why underserved accusations of this sort are so tragic. But in order to protect yourself, it is a reasonable working assumption that whenever someone is telling you how they did not cheat, that "honestly, _______", or that they are not filing for bankruptcy: they are lying.

Starting to resemble a Bear Stearns chart.Need a VIP on CNBC in the morning to calm investors.Worked like a charm in 2008 right before the 2 dollar bills appeared on the Windows.

Completely disagree with this view. A bunch of idiots said Jefferies was going to go bankrupt just because MF Global did. The company, of course, denied it. You say we should have assumed they were lying and they must have been on the path to bankruptcy. I decided ro figure out the truth of the matter and bought on the dip.

I am not buying JCP common today, but I do own the senior bonds. The stock has long been overvalued and investors are finally figuring it out. It doesn't mean the stock is going to $0.
