    Biotech --

First learn at least a bit about the science, which isn't too bad.

Second, evaluate the potential markets if they do get approved, which isn't easy.

Third, evaluate how many shareholders there will be if and when they get approved, which is kinda hard.

Fourth, evaluate and investigate the possibility they are fraudulent or worthless, since a lot of them are and since you can't get squat info about the companies or the individuals and since they aren't making any money yet there aren't going to be that many accounting clues, which makes that task really, really, really hard, unless they are stupid enough to hire dumb paid shills to pump their stock . . . .

Fifth, figure out whether the FDA is likely to approve the drug, which is not only hard to do given their process and how few get approved, but also probably random.

I'm not totally sure I understand my fascination with buying biotech stocks . . . .

Hope reigns eternal and Wall Street loves to sell/address this hope! The BIG hit...., why do people buy lotteries with essentially no possibility of winning?

I have learned that many products do not actually sell what they seem to be selling; for example, condos in Miami [and elsewhere] are not a real estate investment - there are money laundering and/or vanity products! Again, real estate developers oblige to human needs.
