    This has nothing to do with security. I will drive for days to avoid flying. I wish everyone else would too.

    The TSA is an insurance policy against terrorism. If we want to price this insurance we should make some basic plots of different risk factors over the last say 20 years:



    The risk is not even perceptible to the naked eye if you plot it against risk factors people should be concerned about, like heart disease (which the Mayo clinic says is often preventable). The TSA annual budget is $7 billion. So I suppose the TSA is overpriced by a couple orders of magnitude.
