After Labor Day, Christopher's Lemonade Stand will become Christopher's Coffee Corner. The mason jars of fresh squeezed lemonade are gone until next summer but the stand will be at the same location serving an organic house blend made from the finest Guatemalan, Brazilian, and Sumatran beans. Customers are welcome from 7:30 AM until bus 19 arrives around 8:35. Commuters in a rush can drive though and take their coffee to go. Alternatively, families are welcome to park in the front driveway so parents can drink gourmet coffee while waiting for the school bus. While 6-year old Christopher will brew the coffee, he would like to thank Doug Zumbach, owner of Zumbach´s Gourmet Coffee, for his help in all aspects of the business from selecting the blend and roasting the beans to teaching all about coffee beans and brewing. Christopher is extremely grateful for this generosity from a real coffee expert and connoisseur. Christopher's Coffee Corner is donating a portion of profits to the New Canaan Fire Company No. 1 for the purchase of new rescue equipment.
For coffee at home, I typically use the Breville Single-Serve Coffeemaker in Connecticut, the Capresso Coffeemaker/Burr Grinder in Maine, and store Costa Rican Monte Crisol Green Coffee Beans for emergencies. However, my absolutely favorite way to make coffee is with the Aeropress Coffee and Espresso Maker. It is a cheap, easy machine but makes the best coffee. If you try it, you will understand its cult-like fanatical following.
