John, Ok. What is your take on Phil's article?

I am still digesting it. My first impression is that he has tapped into some under appreciated data set. I need to go into the details and attempt dissection and reconstruction to look for additional patterns and relationships. I am spending this week (and probably next week) on two other detailed projects. I have also been asked to work on another "outside" project which may take 2-3 days. So I won't get into this for 7-10 days. Others may get some further analysis done before I get to it.

Bottom line: I have a high regard for the source (Phil) and am predisposed to accept his results. But, before I accept anything, even from my economics professor father, I have always sought to independently evaluate the information.

untrusting, sorry I didn't answer your question. Maybe I can do better later.

I follow Phil's web site (Phil's Stock World) and almost daily publish links to his posts from my Instablog.

John, I do NOT have a degree from IIT. I went there for 3+ years, then decided to spend some time in Europe before the Third World War began, spent all my money, and on the way back to the States - working as a 'general utility' on a freighter - I was called a fool by a very smart Irishman, and immediately changed my mind about going back into the army. That next army tour came later - after I was fired from Hughes in L.A. My degrees are from Roosevelt University in Chicago, Stockholm, and Uppsala. I also worked for a consulting company in Chicago (TOPCO), and for the US Navy at Great Lakes designing terminal installations for destroyer escorts.

BUT, I like to make it sound as if I have a degree from IIT. I get some bonus points for that, I guess.
