I'm an architect living in Berkeley, CA with my wife and two sons. I was blessed with an aunt who lived frugally and compounded her savings interest over forty years to make everyone in her extended family relatively wealthy. Now, I'd like to pass on her strategy to the next generation.
A couple of commentors mentioned putting up the actual portfolio holdings in Superyield as they stand, so I set up my holdings using the SA portfolio tool. Every week, I thought I'd take a snapshot of what's going on. I've already made some changes from user input. I sold BPT with a gain of about $100 and bought PCEF which is a very balanced fund of funds consisting of high yield closed in funds.
The biggest move this week is NMM which is a essentially a fleet of oil tankers. They lost a lot of their value before I purchased it, and they put the value back the week I've owned it.
I'd love more input on potential investments and changes in this portfolio. The two investments on my radar are VE, which is essentially a French water utility, and TNH, which is a Fertilizer manufacturer.
