Idaho Workers’ Compensation Rate Increases for 2012: National Federation of Independent Business Members May be Eligible for Discounted Coverage from EMPLOYERS®
Facing increased workers compensation rates, qualified NFIB members in Idaho may be eligible for discounted coverage
RENO, Nev.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Idaho small businesses should prepare for workers compensation insurance premium rate increases going into effect after the New Year. The Idaho Division of Insurance has ordered an average premium rate increase of 2.9 percent effective January 1, 2012.
While the mandatory rate increase is out of their control, business decision makers and independent insurance agents should be aware of measures they can take to help manage workers compensation-related costs. Qualifying National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) members may be eligible to receive a 5 percent discount on workers' compensation insurance policies with EMPLOYERS. NFIB named EMPLOYERS, Americas small business insurance specialist, its provider of choice in Idaho due to the carrier's expertise and focus on meeting the needs of small businesses.
We know that even the slightest cost increase can have a major effect on small businesses, said Suzanne Budge, state director, NFIB/Idaho. Thats why we fight so hard, year after year, for reforms that keep cost increases to a minimum. We are of course committed to maintaining and protecting the reforms we have achieved, but we are also pleased to be able to offer NFIB members this beneficial program through our strategic relationship with EMPLOYERS. By helping Idaho businesses control their costs, were putting small businesses in a better position to succeed.
"By offering this workers' compensation program to NFIB members, EMPLOYERS is helping alleviate some cost burdens felt by small business in this economy," said Hale Johnston, senior vice president, regional manager, western region, EMPLOYERS. "We are pleased to be able to continue to provide small businesses with cost savings opportunities and effective services, especially at a time when many of their other operational costs are rising."
