Cardinal Bank Names William A. and Eleanor Hazel Honorary Chairs for Commemorative 10th Anniversary Charity Classic
TYSONS CORNER, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Cardinal Bank (CDBK.OB) (NASDAQ: CFNL) is pleased to announce that local businessman, William A. Bill Hazel and his wife, Eleanor, have been named Honorary Chairpersons of its 2012 Annual Charity Classic, benefiting Inova Kellar Center and the Cardinal Bank Community Fund. The date for the event is set for Monday, May 21, at the Country Club of Fairfax, Virginia. Celebrating its tenth anniversary year, the Cardinal Classic is regarded as one of the most successful fundraising initiatives in the Northern Virginia region.
The Cardinal Classic is unique among high-profile fundraisers, and I am honored to work alongside Cardinal Bank and its tremendous team of volunteers, said Bill Hazel, Chairman and Founder of William A. Hazel, Inc., headquartered in Chantilly, Virginia. The success of this annual event is due in large part to Cardinals strong dedication to outstanding community leadership, combined with the generosity of community members, business partners, customers and volunteers - all giving back to the communities where they live and work, Hazel continued.
Bill and Eleanor Hazel are exemplary philanthropic leaders and community advocates. Long a guiding force behind fundraising for organizations that strengthen families and communities, the Hazels were Founding Sponsors of the Cardinal Bank Charity Classic more than a decade ago. Hazel, a US Army veteran and longtime supporter of Northern Virginias economic development, founded his site development company nearly a half century ago.
Bill is a well-respected business leader who brings an extraordinary mix of leadership, experience and success to the Cardinal Classic, said F. Kevin Reynolds, Tournament Chairman. The Hazels have touched countless lives across this region through their community stewardship and philanthropic efforts with local charities. We are grateful for their willingness to serve as honorary chairs of our 2012 event.
Since Cardinal Banks first tournament in 2002, the Cardinal Classic has raised more than $2.5 million, far exceeding its original goal of $1 million, to benefit the Inova Kellar Center and the Cardinal Bank Community Fund.
