Versant Launches Ask Me Anything Series to Help Address Critical Questions in the Age of Big Data
REDWOOD CITY, Calif., March 20, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Versant Corporation (VSNT) (Nasdaq:VSNT), a worldwide leader in developing data management software infrastructure for complex, mission-critical applications, today announced the launch of its Ask Me Anything (AMA) series. The new series is designed to provide business leaders, IT managers, and application developers access to industry experts to help answer complex questions about how to best leverage and navigate the confusing landscape of information management technologies.
Almost overnight, the database market has become extremely complex and dynamic with Big Data, increasing business complexity, and the need to integrate and analyze heterogeneous data sources breeding a host of new technologies to accompany existing solutions. Businesses are now tasked with learning and objectively considering a multitude of new technologies like Hadoop, NoSQL, and NewSQL, and comparing their abilities against more traditional technologies like SQL and object databases. Big Data's effects on the enterprise have made the task of navigating this new landscape extremely urgent, and with so many choices to consider it is difficult to know which one is the right solution.
The Versant AMA series provides a platform for business leaders and those ingrained in the process of developing applications to learn how new technologies affect their organizations' data demands, and make informed decisions about which is best suited for their needs. During the live, interactive online discussions, third-party experts will field inquiries from participants with the aim to educate, inform, and advise them on critical issues. The duration of each AMA will be between thirty minutes and an hour, with each session focusing on a different area of interest for the database community.
The inaugural Versant AMA session will take place Wednesday, April 18th, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. PDT /12:00 p.m. EDT, and is titled "Ask Me Anything& About Solving the Mysteries of the Database Landscape." It will feature Roberto V. Zicari, editor and founder of ODBMS.ORG, full time professor of Database Information Systems at Frankfurt University and representative of the OMG in Europe. Roberto will be fielding questions related to the overarching theme of the database landscape, including which database is right for certain business and information management needs, and how to navigate the rapidly evolving database technology market.
To partake in the session and get questions answered, participants will need to register, then join the session and ask questions live, or post questions for Roberto prior to the AMA, at: http://bit.ly/wVp5rQ
