Metabolix Promotes Max Senechal to Vice President, Biobased Chemicals
CAMBRIDGE, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Metabolix, Inc. (NASDAQ: MBLX), an innovation-driven bioscience company focused on delivering sustainable solutions for plastics, chemicals and energy, today announced the promotion of Max Senechal to vice president, biobased chemicals and his appointment to the executive management team. Mr. Senechal will be responsible for the commercialization of Metabolixs biobased industrial chemicals program, including the coordination of critical technical milestones and development of the customer base globally.

Mr. Senechal brings to his new role more than 20 years of experience in the chemicals industry in both consulting and engineering. Mr. Senechal joined Metabolix in 2010 as director of strategy and commercial development, focused on the strategic direction and commercialization path for the Companys biobased industrial chemicals platform. From 2000 to 2010, Mr. Senechal served as a vice president for the chemicals, petroleum and life sciences practices at Charles River Associates International (CRA). At CRA, he focused on the development of business strategies, operations improvement projects and due-diligence engagements. From 1995 to 2000, Mr. Senechal was a senior manager at Arthur D. Little, where he was responsible for a wide range of consulting assignments for leading chemical companies across the globe. Prior to his consulting career, Mr. Senechal was a project engineer where he supervised the design, construction and start-up of industrial facilities in several industries including commodity, specialty, fine chemicals and pharmaceuticals. Mr. Senechal earned his MBA from the University of Massachusetts, Boston, and his B.S. in mechanical engineering from Laval University, Quebec, Canada.
