RTI International Metals, Inc. Announces Appointment of Commercial Executive
PITTSBURGH--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- RTI International Metals, Inc., (NYSE: RTI) announced today that Patricia A. OConnell has been appointed Executive Vice President Commercial, effective January 14, 2013. Ms. OConnell will report to the Companys Vice Chair, President and CEO Dawne S. Hickton.
Ms. OConnells career has spanned over 20 years with a comprehensive and proven track record in sales, new business development, operations, material and supply, international business, strategy, executive management and customer relations turnaround. OConnell most recently was president of customer business for the $1 billion defense, civil helicopters and small turbo props businesses of Rolls-Royce North America. From 2008 to 2010, OConnell held the positions of Executive Vice President at GE Aviation and President, GE Civil Aviation Systems. Prior to her role at GE, OConnell spent 12 years at Rockwell Collins in various senior management and executive positions.
OConnell will be accountable to strategically define and lead new business development opportunities and facilitate growth and expansion of existing and related business opportunities for the Company. In this new role, she will have responsibility for the management of the corporate commercial team of the organization, working closely with the operations and technology teams.
Ms. OConnell obtained her Bachelor of Science degree and her Masters of Business Administration degree from the University of Iowa.
