Yelp steps into Latin America with the launch of Brazil
SAO PAULO, Aug. 21, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Yelp Inc. (NYSE: YELP), the company that connects consumers with great local businesses, today announced the availability of Yelp Brazil (http://www.yelp.com.br). Beginning today, people throughout Brazil are able to create accounts on Yelp.com.br to share their opinions about great local businesses. Yelp's free iPhone and Android applications will be available as well as its free suite of business owner tools: Yelp for Business Owners (http://biz.yelp.com.br).

The 23rd country in line to develop an active Yelp community is the largest in Latin America, and more notably it marks the company's first steps into South America. Adding to the list of firsts, it is also the first Lusophone country, meaning Portuguese becomes the 14th language in which reviews can be read, written and shared.
Sao Paulo and Rio will be at the heart of the initial community building focus, but the full-featured site will be available across the whole of Brazil, from the Rio Grande do Sul to Roraima and from Pernambuco to Acre and everywhere in between. Everyone, everywhere in Brazil with access to the Internet on a desktop or a smartphone now has the ability to share their insights on what is good, great and not-so great about local businesses in their neighborhoods.
