The U.S. decision to delay a review of TransCanada's (TRP +1.2%) Keystone pipeline until after the 2012 election may doom the project and accelerate Canada’s efforts to ship crude to Asia, Canada finmin Jim Flaherty says. Proposals from Enbridge (ENB +1.8%) to build a pipeline to transport crude from Alberta’s oil sands to the Pacific and an expansion of a Kinder Morgan (KMI +2.2%) route have new life.

The current Regime's anti-business, anti-US energy policy requires it to sacrifice US jobs and damage the US economy so as to please its "green" overlords. Sad.

Obama had the chance to honestly create 20k US jobs and he said NO to US JOBS! This just adds to the insults caused by the NLRB trying to shut down the new Boeing plant!

It is any wonder the economy is hurting so much under such an anti-business, ultra-leftist extremist?!

Obama apparently only cares about publicity for his fictitious job claims and laws to encourage small time job creation. But when it comes to a decision to support real jobs now, he supports his special interest constituencies (like environmentalists) against real jobs. Obama keeps talking about pass his jobs bill now, because we cannot wait. But on these 20,000 jobs we can wait 1-2 years, or maybe lose them completely if pipeline gets cancelled.

Advisor: "This pipeline will create 20,000 jobs and increase our North American oil supply. May help stabilize oil prices and strengthen our foreign policy position vis-à-vis the Middle East.

Obama: "But it does nothing to funnel tax money into the teacher's union. Also, it will piss off the Environmentalists; and Israel gets nervous anytime we seem to be heading towards energy independence and freedom from Middle East oil. I can't afford to lose anymore of the Jewish vote."

Aid: "But this pipeline will benefit the vast majority of Americans, and put in place a modern energy infrastructure that can be expanded to accommodate further growth. It will also will encourage Canada to increase oil production"

Obama: "But that would mean the private sector is creating jobs without my approval. Besides, the type of leadership required for this project is way beyond by free school/free medical ghetto persona. No, I am not comfortable with something like this. Now lets move on to my free books for inner city schools. Have you gotten that check from Gates? I need a photo op in Chicago."
