A NHTSA inquiry into lithium-ion batteries after a Chevy Volt battery created a fire at a NHTSA testing center ensnares GM and rivals, according to sources. An e-mailed statement from the agency indicates the investigation of electric cars is focused on post-crash fires after cars are stored away - not from normal usage. Shares of GM dipped into negative territory after the report broke, but have since recovered and now stand +0.2%.
