"There is no safe haven in today's markets," says Paul Singer, speaking at the Ira Sohn conference, and blaming the distorting effects of QE. While not yet advocating shorting Treasurys (TLT, TBT), Singer says those long need to know they're trading at the wrong price, perhaps 50-100 basis points too low.

Well, we might not know when rates will increase, but we can be pretty sure that they will increase. I would advocate shorting treasuries, at least starting a small position. If you can afford to wait a while, there should be good returns from a short position. It can also serve as a hedge against your long bond positions.
