Calling the U.S. renewable fuels mandate "unworkable," Phillips 66 (PSX) CEO Greg Garland says lawmakers should stop raising the amount of ethanol required to be mixed into gasoline, an issue he says affects the entire refining industry. The EPA's proposal plus flat/declining U.S. demand for gasoline means refiners may hit the blend wall by 2014, after which more ethanol can't be added to the fuel supply.

The blender's credit was removed at the end of 2011 as was the import duty. The mandate is still in place

Ethanol destroy's many engines and fuel systems. Someone needs to litigate this against the Federal Govt as Congress is creating this problem. Cost to produce ethanol creates a larger carbon footprint and energy use than it delivers. We need to stop this madness.
