As Zynga closes in on an IPO at a valuation well above that of Electronic Arts (ERTS), EA is responding to a changing gaming landscape with a major strategy overhaul. The company plans to completely replace disc-based sales with downloads in 5 years, and has big plans for mobile games developer PopCap, acquired in July for $750M+.
