Apple (AAPL -4.2%) roundup: Tiger Global joined the unrelated Tiger Management in selling Apple shares in Q1, lowering its stake to 260K shares from a prior 1.05M (13F). 2) According to the iRumor mill's latest updates, the retina iPad Mini will have the same resolution (2048x1536) and processor (A6X) as the retina 4th-gen iPad; the iPhone 5S will replace the tradition home button with a touch-sensitive sapphire button (a positive for GTAT); and the iPhone 5S will have an improved camera to go with a fingerprint sensor. 3) The DOJ accuses Apple of being the ring-master in an e-book price-fixing scheme (previous); Apple calls the accusation "absurd." 4) Joe Weisenthal observes Apple's price movements have correlated some with gold's.

Cant recall any one company ever getting so much attention anytime anyone mentions them. They should have some Oprah style weekly Apple reality show or something.

This is March 31, 2013 news
Why 4% down today. I guess these days any tom dick and harry selling apple shares brings it down.
its even better, apple is getting a bargain on their buy backs.

In a field of hi tech companies a company cannot spend 6 to 9 months without releasing any new products, mentioning any new products are coming or create some positive buzz for your company. This management is not to be believed. Every story is seized upon as being negative.

The short interest recently doubled, and then there's a flurry of 'bad' news about Apple. Shocking.

Also Google's event today seemed to be positive which is not a good sign for aapl. Agreed with the time it takes for new products. Any other industry not a big deal but in tech you have to stagger your products better. Never been one to bash Cook but I am losing patience especially if we go to the fall before new products are announced. There silence is indeed frustrating. Cook said last year with his NBC interview that they had great things in the pipeline and again says it ever qrtly conference call but where is it? Starting to think the 5S needs to have more wow than what we are hearing or the launch will be perceived as another negative. Like it or not competition is catching up and surpassing aapl.

AAPL is under heavy attack. I'll give it until the end of this year to see some progress.

Change the headline to 'not even crumbling apple can take the steam out of this rally'.

    My theory...

    1. Tiger management sells Q1 as stated so was months ago...maybe even before christmas.

    2. Apple bottoms at $390 and goes up to $466...

    3. Tiger management missed the boat for buying back in.

    4. Tiger management decides to try to knock down the price to buy in at a lower price by publicly announcing they sold their shares several months ago.

    5. Shares dropped around 7% or so.

    6. Tiger management is buying on the drop.

Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) takes places June 10-14 and should serve as a strong catalyst going up. Until then you can jump on the sell-bandwagon induced by the recycling-of-old-news (mostly negative, these guys actually want you to sell your aapl stake) from the likes of CNBC and many others.

Announcements during June's WWDC will be followed by supplier leaks in June and July to unveil Apple's new product releases this fall. Hopefully a deal with China Mobile will be announced by early December, well in advance of the Chinese New Year.

Market Currents continue to take shots at Apple. Why?

This news is not from May, as stated above. It happened in March.

Shame on Market Currents for such a "timely" update on Apple.

Check out how 50B downloads is followed by negative news from Susquehannah in a recent Market Current.

It is almost as if Market Currents waits for Apple to have a down day and piles on.
