Bloomberg reports former Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson told several hedge fund managers in late July 2008 that a government takeover of Fannie Mae (FNMA.OB) and Freddie Mac (FMCC.OB) was a possibility. This was despite testifying in the Senate a few days earlier that government intervention was nearly impossible.

SEC check the trades of everyone in the room! If anyone traded FNM or FRE they should be investigated and prosecuted if guilty

The Treasury Secretary hanging out with hedge fund managers giving them a "heads up" and there are no laws that cover this?
Time for Congress to step up to the plate and show that this will not happen again.
It is not ok for the US Treasury Secretary to give inside information and then lie to Congress about what was going to happen.
Where In the name of Alexander Hamilton is the professional ethics in this office?
