Higher margin products experienced increase in demand and helped beat the bottom line guidance. Bought back $31M shares to bring the total to $57M bought back.

Signed Atlantic Broadband (cable provider), the 12th largest U.S. MSO (Multiple system Operator).

Tivo mini sounds like a success. I like that they didn't force their customers to pony up on more tivo boxes to connect multiple tvs in the house. Also, launched Tivo App. All of this while reducing R&D costs by 13%.

One topic of concern is the upcoming litigation against Motorola regarding patents. They estimate 9-11M in litigation costs. Excluding these costs the company would have been profitable (EBITDA) next quarter.

Gross margin increased a lot and operating expenses are up slightly.

Overall, I got no complaints. The company did good.

Well they had a big earnings miss last quarter. So, I was expecting them to try to impress this report. I found it odd that they never really discussed their short-comings from last quarter.

This report isn't really an outperformance but rather a confirmation that the company is back on track and hopefully won't mess up again.
