Some 2012 predictions from CNBC's Herb Greenberg: the start of a turnaround for J.C. Penney (JCP) under Ron Johnson; restructurings at Sears (SHLD) and Best Buy (BBY); K-Cup knockoffs proliferate as patents on Green Mountain’s (GMCR) K-Cups start expiring; Netflix (NFLX) is acquired by Facebook. That last one actually may have caused a late-day bump in NFLX shares.

If anybody was going to acquire NFLX it would have been done by now. Maybe after Facebook goes public they would be willing to make a stock offer bottom fishing, but by then NFLX will be 50% lower in price. Potential buyers have either walked away or are waiting for much lower prices to purchase.

If Facebook is going public in April / June 2012 time frames.

Maybe at the latter part of the year or wait till first quarter of 2013 and pick it up at a dirt cheap price as DirectTV picked up blockbuster.
