Google (GOOG) reportedly is the subject of a new antitrust probe by the FTC related to the way it uses its dominant position in online display-advertising to beat down competition. At issue is whether Google is illegally pushing companies taking out display ads to use more of its other services. The FTC wrapped a long investigation of Google's search business in January without taking any action. This new probe is in the early stages, say sources, and may not expand beyond that.

And they are trying to kill the FB acquisition of Waze by bidding for it themselves! Monopolies cant be allowed to abuse their power by eviscerating other companies and denying consumers the benefits of enhanced competition, that's the whole point of Sherman/Clayton.
