It looks as if aggressive holiday promotions have lit a fire under the high-end U.S. TV market: Sharp, the dominant player in the North American 60"+ set market, says it plans to exceed its fiscal 2012 (ends March 31) shipment forecast. Sharp's guidance hike could also be further evidence of the relative strength of luxury goods compared with moderately-priced consumer items. (previously)
