Tobacco stocks trade lower as higher Treasury yields are taking just a bit of the shine off the group as a good dividend income play. Decliners: Altra (MO) -2.1%, Reynold American (RAI) -2.2%, Lorillard (LO) -2%; Vector Group (VGR) -1.7%, Philip Morris (MO) -1.8%, British American Tobacco -2.3%.

    Tobacco besides being reliable dividend payers generally raise the yield by approx. 10% annually. T Bills might be saver payers, but long term the appreciation far exceeds the risks.

    All I know is my investment in PM is up 95% going from 47 to 92 in 3.5 years and my yield on cost is over 7%. The 10-year t-note can have some glory for "breaking out" over 2%, but I'll stick to my PM.
