Krispy Kreme (KKD) execs made it quite clear during the firm's earnings call that doughnut sales are "doggone strong" but it might have been premium coffee that really set up the company for a smashing performance (I, II) in Q1. Beverage unit sales were up a solid 5% Y/Y during the period for the company, but dollar sales shot up 16% as the company pushed more higher-priced coffee drinks. KKD +12.1% premarket.
