The Washington Post reports that execs from Carrier IQ are in DC today to meet with officials with the FTC to clear up controversial claims that the software company has placed code on smartphones to track user activity - either unintentionally or by design. Carriers AT&T (T -0.8%), Verizon (VZ -0.2%), and Sprint (S -3.4%) say they use the firm's software in line with their own privacy policies, while Apple (AAPL -2.2%) checks in on the issue by noting it plans to remove Carrier IQ software from future software updates.
