In a ruling that could help telco and satellite TV services grab subscribers from cable providers, an appeals court has shot down a request by Cablevision (CVC) to review an FCC order requiring it to make its HD local sports content available to Verizon (VZ) and AT&T (T). Cable providers have frequently used their control over local sports programming as a way to discourage subscribers from jumping ship.
