IDC estimates Android (GOOG) saw 90% Q/Q shipment growth in India in Q3, allowing it to overtake Symbian as the most popular local smartphone platform. Thanks to Symbian's decline, Nokia's (NOK) Indian smartphone share fell sharply from Q2, but its overall phone share rose by 680 bps. The iPhone (AAPL), hampered by a late start and premium pricing, had just 3.1% of the smartphone market. (also)
