The hot rumor of the day is that Coca-Cola has an interest in making a bid for SodaStream (SODA +1.5%). Though there's nothing substantial to the chatter, shares are higher on the day to follow up on yesterday's rally inspired by a price target increase from Barclays.

What would this mean for the stock if it becomes part of a CO acquisition?

Not sure I believe on Twitter account with less than 1,300 followers. Could just be someone long trying to get out at an even better price following the recent rally.

Of coarse Coke is interested in acquiring Soda Stream! SS has & will have a long term effect on the big soda companies. I've spent 40 plus yrs. in the Supermarket Industry ,from Bottle boy in the basements of NYC to executive management for 3 major chains. I can tell you that the Big Soda Companies & even some beverage companies fear Soda Streams concept. Just the pure fact that one can make or brew any beverage, which can be made by using tape water and not have to carry bulk packaging home ! Wow! Can you imagine what would happen to shelf space, displays and
manufacturing. Don't forget the possible loss of jobs! So its no wonder that Coke wants to get the jump on the beverage industry by buying Soda Stream, is just smart! Oh by the way , the Greenee's would love to save the environment from producing all that plastic.

I don't know if the time has come for SODA to be acquired by KO or any other company. But if they prove not to be a fad that time will come.

I guess if the price is right Sodastream might sell. However
I think Sodastream does quite well on its own.I've bought Sodastream at $33 because I thought the fundamentals were good. Each quarter their earnings keep rising and the shorts have to cover and naysayers thought it was just a fad.Now I don't hear those analyists saying too much.
