Kantar Media estimates Q3 U.S. ad spending rose just 0.4% Y/Y, thanks to spending cuts from 8 of the country's top 10 advertisers. The firm claims TV ad spending was an area of strength, rising 3.2% Y/Y, but that newspaper spending fell 3.7%, and Internet search spending fell 14.4%. As Peter Kafka notes, the search figure doesn't mesh with the strong Q3 results posted by market colossus Google (GOOG). (previously)
