Royal Dutch Shell (RDS.A) shuts production at its 200,000 bpd Bonga deepwater facility off the coast of Nigeria after a leak of 40,000 barrels of oil. RDS says the leak occurred Tuesday during a routine operation to transfer crude from the Bonga vessel to a tanker. Tudor Pickering analysts say Bonga production totals ~3% of Shell's total output.
