With interest rate fears subsiding until at least 8:30 tomorrow morning, mREITs (MORT +1.9%) get a breather. Leading higher were American Capital (AGNC +3.4%), (MTGE +1.1%), Chimera (CIM +2.7%), Hatteras (HTS +2.4%), CYS Investments (CYS +1.9%), Javelin (JMI +4.7%), and Annaly (NLY +1.9%). One theme from conference presentations this week: Most have taken advantage of widening spreads to buy - if rates come in, they're set to profit.

These Reits seem to be way over sold at least good for a bounce play.

Already took advantage of several risiculous declines and I'm sure ACAS did as well as they have been a consistent buyer, why not NAV exceeds $18.

Sold my agnc at $32 on 5/2/2013, bought back this morning before open at $25.20, almost 4% gain. I owned almost two years on and off.
I hope the news tomorrow am is good and the stock rallies.

Croatkid, if they stay on schedule, they should announce their next dividend tomorrow, with ex-div date on or about 6/18/13, date of record on or about 6/20/13, and pay date on or about 7/26/13.

AGNC and MTGE are likely to declare dividends on Friday or Monday. If their comments that the earnings issues were one-off occurrences and the future looks good, then they can prove themselves by maintaining the dividend. That event would rally the entire sector.

traderbear - I hope you right! ..I was thinking the exact same thing. By maintaining the same dividend - that would be a big, bold statement - and they can pay it with the volume of shares bought /sold they've had the past 2 weeks - they should at least carry it forward thru the next 2 cycles. ...however, if they decide to lower the dividend - my guess is that they will lower to 1.10 or 1.15... Anyone agree?
