For the first month this year, McDonald's (MCD) was able to report positive sales growth in the U.S., Asia, and Europe even after running up against a tough comparable from last year. Though the expanded breakfast menu appears to be the main driver of sales gains, higher advertising costs and an increased focus on value could dampen profitability during the quarter, warns analysts.
