Though many expect the chip equipment industry's difficult 2011 to be followed up by an even worse 2012, Oppenheimer finds reasons to be optimistic about a rebound in demand. The firm notes orders from chip foundries have been strong Q4, and it expects orders from memory makers to pick up next quarter. KLA-Tencor (KLAC) and ASM Lithography (ASML) are its top picks in the space.
