In spite of limited hardware sales thus far, developers are happy to write apps for Windows Phone: over 50K apps are now available for the platform, up from 30K in August. However, apps or not, former Windows Phone exec Charlie Kindel thinks Microsoft's (MSFT) dictatorial approach towards hardware and carrier partners (as compared with Google's friendlier approach with Android) is stunting the platform's development.
