More on Pep Boys' (PBY) Q1: Comparable service center revenues rise 3.9% and retail comps slide 2.1% for +1% comps growth overall. All service business categories (except tires, where margins are improving) post positive comps growth, a trend that is continuing in Q2. CEO Mike Odell says PBY's "more focused customer-centered strategy … is beginning to take shape [as] associates [are] building lasting relationships with customers whether service or retail and offering solutions for all of their automotive needs."
