End of an era: Nokia (NOK -2.4%) will ship its last Symbian phone this summer as it fully focuses its smartphone resources on Lumia hardware, and pushes its Asha line to consumers wanting sub-$100 touchscreen phones. Nokia's Symbian shipments plunged to 500K in Q1, leading total smartphone units to fall 49% Y/Y in spite of 5.6M Lumia shipments. The news comes shortly after HSBC predicted a mix shift towards Lumia phones will allow Nokia's phone ASP to fall only 1% in 2013 in spite of feature phone ASP declines, and rise 6.5% in 2014.

This was out yesterday. (the part about HSBC) It was mentioned on CNBC in the morning where Cramer and his sidekick (whose name I forget) took their chance to kick down Nokia like they always do.

Hmm, I may pick up an 808 if the prices drop. It's going to remain one of the best camera phones on the planet for years yet.
