Lab Corp (LH) and Quest Diagnostics (DGX) are set to face efforts to lower their income from Medicare, which accounts for 15% of their annual revenues, after an audit showed that the health program spends over $900M a year more for medical lab services than it should. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, which manages Medicare, is looking at whether it can cut payments to labs.
