Big trouble in shoes? Coach (COH -0.2%) continues to expand into new categories as pressure in its trademark handbag business from Michael Kors and Tony Burch has it looking for growth channels. Women's shoes will be one such area with new Coach shoe lines expected as soon as this fall. It's a move viewed as risky by some industry insiders who think inventory management issues could crop up and wonder how the company will keep up its legendary 73% gross margin rate.
