Citing macro issues and hard drive shortages, Gartner now expects global IT spending to grow just 3.6% in 2012, less than a prior forecast of 4.7%. IT and telecom services are expected to be weak spots, posting growth of just 3.1% and 2.3%, respectively. However, telecom equipment spending is expected to grow at a healthy 6.9% clip, and enterprise software is expected to grow 6.4%.
