Shoe Carnival (SCVL) warns it expects FQ4 revenue $181M-$182M and EPS of $0.20-$0.23, below Street estimates of $187M and $0.34. The company blames the results on weak boot sales, which fell 15% Y/Y at comparable stores. In addition, "increased promotional activity focused on boot sales" contributed to a 170 bps drop in Shoe Carnival's gross margin. Shares are currently halted.
