NetApp (NTAP) joins H-P (HPQ) and EMC in raising hard drive prices for its storage gear in response to industry shortages. In slashing its 2012 IT spending outlook, Gartner cautioned the pain caused by the shortages would extend beyond the PC industry into other IT hardware markets. While expecting conditions to improve after February, IDC's John Rydning warns "it won't feel as if things are back to normal until 2013."
