Starbucks (SBUX) will be the latest restaurant chain to post calorie information on menu boards across the country. The company continues to try to position itself as a healthy alternative to fast food fare with its new grab-and-go lunches and line of Evolution Fresh juices, but also has its share of calorie headaches if whips, milks, and sugary options are included in beverage calorie counts.

  • Stop making Crap-u-chino, and offer atleast 3 dark brews around the clock. We'll all be thinner, and enjoy coffee the way it was intended. Not with 1000 calories of syrup.

  • This could prove to be quite a profitable move for a minimal one-off cost. Anyone who takes the view that controlling your weight is the way to a long and healthy life and that this can be best achieved by restricting your calorie intake to 2000 calories a day is more likely to go to a restaurant/cafe where the calorie count of each item can be readily seen by each customer. My only surprise is why Starbucks are restricting this welcome move to USA. It needs to include China where there are increasing levels of obesity among the young as well as Europe.
